Are you interested in seeing the trail extended to Carlisle? We are currently working with Cumberland County trying to make it happen but we need some Carlisle based volunteers to take up the challenge. Click here for more information on a possible extension. |

CVRTC recently received a grant from the Carlisle Area Health & Wellness Foundation to educated people on the importance of wearing a bicycle helmet and to provide helmets to individuals that need one. The helmets will be distributed at Get Movin' Night at the Nancy Grayson Elementary School and Race, Run, Ride & Ramble held by CVRTC. If you are aware of anyone who is in need of a helmet and they cannot attend one of these events, please contact us. |

Now that the Cumberland Valley Rail -Trail is mostly complete, we must turn our attention the the care and maintenance of the trail. CVRTC depends on local membership dues and contributions to pay for the maintenance of the trail. We receive no funding from the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC), or from any government entity. CVRTC also depends on volunteers to provide all the labor. Consider adopting a section of the trail, arranging a work day with your group or coming as an individual to one of our a work days. If you would like to be notified of future work days or if you or your group would like to schedule you own work day please contact us at info@cvrtc.org |

| Vern Gauthier sent us a list of birds seen on
the trial between Newville and Oakville over the last 3 years. A
total of 32 of the birds were new to our list. Several new birds
were spotted by Dave C. We now have a total of 97 different
birds seen along the trail. Help us catalog the Flora and Fauna found along the trail by submiting what you see. |
