Newville:
To access the Cumberland Valley Rail-Trail from the north exit I-81 at
Newville (exit 37, PA 233 north). As you enter town, take the first
left onto Vine Street and follow through town becoming Fairfield Street
(PA 533W).
As you leave town, turn left on Cherry Street and go to street end at
McFarland Street.
From Carlisle, Take PA 641 through Newville, turn
left on Cemetery Road and follow to end of the road on McFarland
Street.
Restrooms are available.
Oakville
To access the trail at Oakville, from US 11 or PA 533 turn west onto
Oakville Road and follow into village.
Parking is available just beyond the trail on the right.
Shippensburg:
To access the trail from the south at Shippensburg (I-81 exit 24 or
29), from King Street (US 11) turn onto North Earl Street and go to the
first light. Turn left onto West Burd Street and go 1 block.
Parking is available in the Municipal parking lot on the left. To
access the trail go 1 block north on Seneca Street then 1 block East on
Fort Street. The fist mile of the trail is unmarked,
undeveloped
and has a steep embankment at Fogelsonger Road due to a missing bridge.
Consider accessing the trail at the Shippensburg Township
Park.
Shippensburg
Township Park:To
access the trail from at the Shippensburg Township Park, from the north
use I-81 exit 29, turn right onto Walnut Bottom Rd. Left onto
King Street (US 11). From the south use I-81 exit 24, turn left
onto Olde Scotland Rd. Left onto Fayette Street. Right onto King Street
(US 11). Turn onto North Queen Street at Sheetz then right onto Britton
Road; approximately ½ mile to the park.
