A
point to point, 15K (9.3 mile) race on the Cumberland Valley Rail-Trail
starting at the Newville trail head and finishing at the Shippensburg
Township Park. The trail has a smooth crushed stone surface with long
sweeping turns thru beautiful farmland.
Transportation will be provided for racers from the park to the start in
Newville for the first 250 entries. Entries over 250 will be required to
find their own transportation to Newville. The bus will leave Shippensburg Township Park at 11:40,
12:00 and 12:20. Please take the earliest bus you can in order to get
everyone to the starting line on time. There are restroom
facilities at the start. Water and snacks will be available while
you wait.
You will be able to check a bag at the start in Newville and it will be
transported back to the Shippensburg Township Park. The bags will remain
secured until your return to the park. You may retrieve your bag by
showing the bag check your race number.
There will be three water stops on the course at approximately mile 2, mile 4
and mile 6.75.
Last year we had 171 runners register with Adam Wilt of Seven Valleys,
PA winning with a time of
54:51. The female winner was Sarah Mikalauskas of New Market, MD with a
course record time of of 1:06:41. The masters category was very
competitive with 66 of the
171 runners. It was won by Randy Hoon in 1:00:54 and 7th
overall and Amy Stahlman in 1:13:46 and 8th overall female.

5k Run - 11 am
An out and back 5k (3.1 mile) fun run/walk on the Cumberland Valley
Rail-Trail beginning and ending at the Shippensburg Township Park.
There will be two water stops on the course at approximately mile 1 and mile 2.
Last year we saw a big jump in the number of runners in the 5k with 168
registered. The winners were Ales Hayden with a time of 20:00 and
Brooke Schellhase in 22:09. The masters winners were Cory Ferguson in
21:56 and Lynn Fickes in 24:45.

30k Ride - 10:45 am
An out and back 30K (18.6 mile) bike ride on the Cumberland Valley
Rail-Trail from the Shippensburg Township Park to the trail head in
Newville and back to the Shippensburg Township Park. This is a
non-competitive ride. Rest stops will be
available along the way with a snack in Newville.
15k Ramble - 10 am
A
15K (9.3 mile) hike from the Shippensburg Township Park to the trail
head in Newville. Water stops will be available along the way.
Transportation will be provided from Newville back to the park.
The ramble is your opportunity to hike the trail from end
to end and not have to arrange a ride back. The only requirement is that
you give yourself enough time to get to Newville before the bus bringing
the 15k racers to the start is ready to leave at 1pm.
All participants receive lunch. All
pre-registrants will receive a t-shirt • Pre-registration ends on April
8.
Lunch will be provided to everyone who is registered. We hope
to have chicken BBQ again this year prepared by the "Friends of the
Park". Extra
lunches will be available for purchase for your family and friends who
come out to cheer you on. If you would like to have a vegetarian option,

in advance so we can make the arrangements.
Registration for all events will occur at the Shippensburg Township
Park starting at 9 am.
Event will be held rain or shine. No refunds.
You must be present to receive your reward. No awards will be
mailed.
Bike riders will start as a group at 10:45 am. Racers and Ramblers
must be registered to receive transportation. Transportation for the
race will leave the park at 11:40, 12:00 and 12:20. The last return transportation
for the ramble will leave Newville at 1 PM.
All proceeds will benefit the Cumberland Valley
Rail-to-Trails Council, a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation
