View the trail map. Get directions to parking and access points. Trail enthusiasts can enjoy walking, jogging, bicycling, horseback riding and other non-motorized recreational uses. Users will appreciate a variety of settings as the trail traverses wooded areas and farmland between the historic towns of Shippensburg and Newville. A shaded picnic area in the village of Oakville provides a pleasant rest stop along the way.
The CV Railroad Museum is now open. An abandoned boxcar sitting along the trail has become the Cumberland Valley Railroad Museum. The Cumberland Valley Railroad Museum seeks to preserve and share the railroad heritage of the Cumberland Valley. Our museum is dedicated to serving the community, working in partnership with universities and museums, and providing a resource for future generations.
Join CVRTC for the 13th annual 5K and the 23nd annual Fall Down on the trail hike. The hike will go over the new Big Spring Road bridge and through the tunnel under Rt 233 and continue on to the extension that added 2 more miles of trail.
CVRTC is an all-volunteer organization. You can support the trail by becoming a member, volunteering or attending one of our fundraising events. Consider adopting a section of trail, organizing a group work day or donating your time if you have a special skill.
